Caerwent Baptist Chapel is in the middle of an ancient Roman town. During the Roman occupation, the village was called Venta Silurum, meaning ‘market town of the Silures’ – but it’s now called Caerwent. The village itself is very interesting as it is surrounded by an old Roman wall and a number of excavations have been made within the village which are available for the public to see for free. Park your vehicle in the visitor’s car park and feast your eyes on some tremendous pieces of history.
Our church was established in 1815 and is currently under the pastoral care of Pastor Gwydion Emlyn. We are a growing fellowship and pray that we would continue to grow as we seek to glorify God and exalt the name of Jesus Christ in the community. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join our services to worship the Lord. We often have visitors, so we warmly welcome you.
